Orsumella Winery – Pure Tuscany
The Orsumella winery is picturesquely nestled in the rolling hills of Tuscany, more precisely in the village of Montefiridolfi, in the heart of the renowned Chianti Classico DOCG region. Here, on approximately 78 hectares, a passion for winemaking unites with the power of nature – 25 hectares of which are vineyards and 11 hectares of olive groves, cultivated using natural methods. The idyllic setting of cypress avenues, shimmering silver olive trees, and geometrically laid-out vineyards is not only a feast for the eyes but also significantly shapes the character of the wines.
The Philosophy of Orsumella
At Orsumella, they believe that wine arises from a special connection between earth and sky – a magical interplay of nature, sun, and stars. This poetic notion is not only a beautiful image but is also reflected in the story behind the name: A nearby stream, called Orsumella, is said to have reflected the light of the constellation Ursa Minor (Little Bear) at night. This legend lives on in the winery's logo – with seven star-shaped symbols representing tradition, history, and a passion for wine.
Origin with character
Orsumella's wines, especially the Chianti Classico Riserva, embody the very best of Tuscany. The combination of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, grown on stony soils in Alberese and Galestro at an altitude of over 300 meters, yields wines with intense fruit, vibrant acidity, and fine tannins. Aging in French oak barrels and subsequent bottle aging lend them additional complexity and structure.
Wine with responsibility
Natural cultivation means consciously avoiding chemical-synthetic substances, promoting soil fertility, and striving for the most self-sufficient agricultural system possible. Orsumella combines traditional craftsmanship with modern cellar technology to create natural, high-quality wines that are in harmony with the environment.
Family with a vision
Behind Orsumella stands a family that works with dedication and vision. Knowledge is passed down through generations and further developed with a spirit of innovation. Passion, expertise, and a clear vision shape the daily work at the winery. This close connection between people and product makes every Orsumella wine a true ambassador of Tuscan wine culture.
