The wines of Mount Etna form a significant part of our regional identity, as do the treasures of our culture, landscape, and art. They represent an ancient cultural heritage and an enormous economic resource that must be protected and enhanced. Having a strong identity means laying the foundations for effectively promoting our production area, our businesses, our wines, and our Nocellara dell'Etna extra virgin olive oil, typical of the volcano's slopes.
This is why Produttori Etna Nord was born. Our story is unfolding, a story born from dreams, sharing, passions, and friendship; a story that aims to defend the authenticity of the territory and always guarantee the highest quality expression, respecting both tradition and innovation. Sicilian and Dutch influences blend, bear fruit, and celebrate the land with its rhythms, its time, and its seasons.
The vision
A good oenologist lets wine speak for itself, exploring its myriad facets, tracing its development, growth, and transformation. Every label is meticulously attended to and cared for day after day. We accompany them on their journey until the perfect moment to leave... to be bottled.
The Vineyard - Etna
Etna wines, characterized by their breadth, freshness, flavor, and minerality, reflect the volcanic nature of the territory and its proximity to the sea. Viticulture on the northern slopes is characterized by a more humid climate and ancient volcanic soils, deep and rich in organic matter, which contribute to the distinctive sensory characteristics of the wines, varying according to grape variety and terroir.
Red grape variety Nerello Mascalese
This is the king of Mount Etna, and the volcano's northern slopes are its true kingdom. On ancient terraces overlooking the sea, amidst broom and volcanic sand, this remote, indigenous red grape variety is born. Originally from the Mascali Plain, from which it takes its name, this grape contributes at least 80% to the composition of Etna Rosso DOC. It produces distinctive red hues characterized by finesse and elegance.
White grape variety Carricante
It is an old white grape variety that has always been cultivated on the slopes of the volcano, especially at the highest elevations. Its name derives from the Sicilian expression "u carricanti," which emphasizes the abundant production of its vines, capable of filling carts with grapes. It produces superb white wines with good structure and longevity.
