The roots of the Zöhrer winery and family, established in 1270, reach back to the time of the Babenberg dynasty in Austrian history. Around 1300, Albrecht I (1255-1308) enfeoffed twenty of his most loyal followers with arable land, riparian forests, orchards, and vineyards in and around Weinzierl (today a district of Krems), the feudal lords of Krems/Weinzierl.

For generations, Anton Zöhrer has been steeped in knowledge and tradition. He works diligently to unlock the potential of the great vineyards, which are among the most important in the Kremstal region.
