After the first stop at Malavasi, he was at the Manara winery in St. Floriano on Lake Garda in the evening. From Valpolicella come wonderful wines that the two tasted. With a varied mix of German-English-Italian languages, the viewers got a good insight into the production and taste of the wines.

This tasting with winemaker Roman had a surprise for the viewers: Van Volxem employee Tobias spontaneously joined the live conversation with sommelier Andrea. He came directly from working in the vineyards. In addition to the three wines - only Riesling, of course - the three talked about spontaneous fermentation of wine, wine storage, and the peculiarities of Saar wines.

This tasting began in the best weather at sunset with a wonderful view over the vineyards on the Saar in Wiltingen. Winemaker Roman panned the camera across the panorama. He then sat in his vinotheque and spoke with Sommelier Andrea about his wines. He compared the Riesling Wiltinger Braunfels to a chamber concert with 30 musicians playing Mozart. In comparison, for him a Luganer is a short-lived pop song by Britney Spears. The Riesling Alte Reben, one of the most important wines for winemaker Roman, tasted of apricot, quince and lychee. The best mature vintages for Riesling for Roman are 2009, 2010 and 2012.

Winemaker Roman has a lot of positive energy and is an absolutely emotional person. Already in the first few minutes of this live tasting, he thrilled the audience. Our winemaker Andrea barely got a word in edgewise. There was too much to tell about the winery. Roman Niewodniczanski is experienced in handling a smartphone camera. Although it was his first live tasting ever, he guided the viewers through his winery. Sunset against a fantastic backdrop in Wiltingen and a tour of the rarity cellar included. The wines were also tasted. Flavorful and very fine, these Rieslings. We are looking forward to the next three dates with winemaker Roman on Facebook and Instagram! With Matthias, the earth literally still sticks under his fingernails: he talks like an open book about his wine knowledge and the passion with which he cultivates the vines of his winery in different locations and processes them into high-quality wine. Silvaner belongs to Franconia, also for many viewers of the Live Tasting. Once again, many questions were asked about cultivation methods and cuisine. Silvaner is simply a first choice for asparagus. Whether Kapellenberg or Johannisberg is the better choice depends on the palate of the wine drinker. Something special is the mixed set, which was fermented from various grapes into a taste pleasure.

At the 4th Live Tasting by winemakers Eva and Urban, the two joined us again from their vinotheque in Eltville-Hattenheim. They reported on their plans for the near future until guests are allowed to visit their winery again. They are also using the internet for other formats to connect with customers. Regarding the three wines tasted: The Chardonnay Gutswein and the Blanc de Noirs are ideal companions for asparagus and dishes with light meat. Finally, the Spätburgunder was tasted. This pairs well with strong dishes and red meat.

Blogger Benjamin Schmitt alias "Benni" and winemaker Reinhard Seidel alias "Reini" had arranged this date with Andrea on Instagram. First, blogger Benni joined in and reported on the genesis of the WEINCROWD brand. He is responsible for marketing and described himself as an attention-seeker in the front row. Later, Reini joined the live tasting and talked about his work in the wine cellar and details about the wines. The delicious 2018 Pinot Noir vintage was tasted. The vines of this wine were planted as early as 1976.

Winemaker Anna comes from the Anton Schöfmann winery in the Weinviertel region of Austria. Together with her brother Laurenz, she represents the new generation at the traditional winery. In the Live Tasting, our sommelier Andrea spoke with them about two of their wines. Grüner Veltliner is one of Austria's best-known grape varieties. The winery of Elmar Schauß and his wife Simone is located in Monzingen on the Nahe. In addition to producing delicious red, rosé, and white wines, they also run a guesthouse. In conversation with our sommelier Andrea, Elmar describes the peculiarities of his region, the history of the winery, and what makes the Monzinger Frühlingsplätzchen so special. The wines presented are wonderful, but not exclusively, as an accompaniment to asparagus during asparagus season.

Our first wine Live Tasting started punctually on the last Thursday in February. Sommelier Andrea and winemaker Jana chatted for almost 60 minutes about the Rheinhessen wine region, the Hauck winery and the Sauvignon Blanc sur lie. Jana also explained how the "sur lie" addition came about: it has to do with the longer time the wine spends on the lees. But other wines were also discussed. The approximately 70 viewers asked numerous questions about the wines, but also about which dishes this white wine goes well with. Founder Michael was also present and joined the broadcast for the last third. A viewer's question about the future of Winetory was answered as follows: "Winetory.net has a future as long as you, the community, like our offer of knowledge and wines. To offer this appropriately, we continuously need your feedback." Already during the tasting, we decided that in the not too distant future we would like to discuss another wine from Jana Hauck with this very sympathetic winemaker!

About the Wine Live Tasting by Winetory.net

Our goal is to create a unique wine community and connect winemakers with wine enthusiasts. We want to showcase life and work at the winery through photos and videos. This way, you'll learn more about how the quality of a wine makes it into your glass.

With the innovative Wine Live Tasting format on Instagram, we enable direct interaction with our sommelier Andrea and the winemaker of the wine.

Our sommelier Andrea came to Germany from Italy 29 years ago. He has lived and worked in Munich for 19 years. In addition to his sommelier school, he is a wine entertainer at events and a tour guide on his own wine tours through Germany and Italy.

Anyone can participate in the Wine Live Tasting. The only prerequisites are that the Instagram app is installed on your mobile phone and that you are ideally in an area with Wi-Fi or sufficient network coverage (recommendation: 4G) at the time of the Wine Live Tasting broadcast.

Our sommelier Andrea Vestri from Munich will open, taste, and discuss the wines with you live, sharing his opinion. But not only that: the winemakers of the respective wine will also be present to answer your questions.

Interaction between Sommelier and Winemakers

During the Wine Live Tasting on Instagram, all participants can ask questions and leave comments. These are also displayed directly. Sommelier Andrea and the participating winemaker will respond.

This format is a series. The Wine Live Tasting takes place at regular intervals, presumably every 4 weeks. In the time between the Wine Live Tastings, the wines can be ordered via the Winetory.net product page. After the tasting, the videos will still be available on YouTube. This means that you can join the Wine Live Tasting at any time.
