The Marani Satrapezo Gviani embodies the refined tradition of Satrapezo wines, whose name derives from the festive "Trapeza" tables of ancient Georgia. This exclusive line uses only meticulously selected grapes from chosen parcels of the Kondoli vineyards, with yields deliberately kept low to ensure the highest quality. The result is a wine of impressive depth, finesse, and expressiveness, reflecting a philosophy of uncompromising selection and meticulous handcraft.
- Color: Deep yellow with golden reflections
- Bouquet: On the nose, complex aromas of ripe pineapple, dried plums and honey, interwoven with notes derived from aging in oak barrels.
- Taste: Full-bodied flavor, dominated by aromas of peach and quince jam, balanced by the wine's natural acidity. The exquisite sweetness is harmonized by the long, smoky vanilla and oak finish with a hint of citrus peel.
The foundation of this wine is the indigenous Rkatsiteli grape variety, grown in the immediate vicinity of the Alazani River. From mid-October, morning dew and warm sunshine create ideal conditions for the development of Botrytis cinerea – noble rot, which naturally concentrates sugars and aromas in the berries. The grapes, hand-harvested at the end of November, are carefully selected, gently pressed, and then fermented and aged for approximately nine months in French oak barrels. Gentle filtration and additional bottle aging complete this Georgian late-vintage wine.
- Winemaker/Winery: Marani, Telavi Wine Cellar, Kakheti, Georgia
- Wine type: White wine, bottle, 750ml, dry, Qvevri, Barrique (12-24 months)
- Ingredients: Grapes, acidity regulators (contains tartaric acid and/or malic acid), antioxidant (ascorbic acid), preservative (sulfur dioxide). Bottled by Telavi Wine Cellar in a protective atmosphere.
In the glass, this vintage presents itself with a vibrant color and complex aromas. Scents of candied fruit, ripe apricot, and honey meld with subtle spice nuances to create a multi-layered bouquet. On the palate, it is concentrated and harmonious, with elegant acidity, a smooth texture, and a long, refined finish. An exceptional wine that impressively unites tradition, nature, and masterful winemaking.
