The Marani Satrapezo Ice Wine Cabernet Barrique represents a luxurious interpretation of the Satrapezo tradition, whose name derives from the Greek word Trapeza – the sacred table. Even in ancient times, these wines were reserved for the most important banquets in Georgia and were considered an expression of the highest esteem. For this exclusive line, only hand-picked grapes from carefully selected parcels of the Kondoli vineyards are used, with yields deliberately limited to 4–5 tons per hectare to ensure maximum intensity and quality.

  • Color: Light garnet red with brick-red reflections
  • Bouquet: Intense aromas of honey, strawberry jam, poached quince and red grape juice
  • Taste: The flavor echoes the nose, adding notes of mandarin orange marmalade and plum jam. The finish is long and lingering, with a balanced and inviting aftertaste.

For ice wine, completely frozen Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are harvested when temperatures drop to around -9°C in early December. The frost separates the water from the sugars, acids, and aromatic compounds, resulting in highly concentrated grapes. After careful sorting and gentle pressing, the grapes undergo a two-month, temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for several months at approximately 0°C. Light filtration and final bottle aging complete the production process.

  • Winemaker/Winery: Marani, Telavi Wine Cellar, Kakheti, Georgia
  • Wine type: White wine, bottle, 375ml, sweet, Qvevri, Barrique (12 - 24 months)
  • Ingredients: Grapes, acidity regulators (contains tartaric acid and/or lactic acid), preservatives (sulfur dioxide). Bottled by Telavi Wine Cellar in a protective atmosphere.

In aroma and flavor, the wine reveals itself as powerful and complex, with intensely concentrated notes of cassis, blackcurrants, and ripe cherries, underpinned by elegant oak aromas such as vanilla and toasty notes. On the palate, luscious sweetness combines with a fresh, balancing acidity to create a harmonious whole, culminating in a long, structured finish. An exceptional dessert wine that unites depth, elegance, and meticulous craftsmanship in every sip.
