Marani Satrapezo Ice Wine Cabernet Barrique

The Marani Satrapezo Ice Wine Cabernet Barrique represents the luxurious interpretation of the Satrapezo tradition, whose name is derived from the Greek word Trapeza – the sacred table. Even in ancient times, these wines were reserved for Georgia's most important banquets and were considered an expression of the highest esteem. For this exclusive line, only hand-picked grapes from strictly selected plots of the Kondoli vineyards are used, with the yield deliberately limited to 4–5 tons per hectare to ensure maximum intensity and quality.

• Color: Bright garnet red with brick-red reflections
• Bouquet: Intense aromas of honey, strawberry jam, poached quince, and red grape juice
• Taste: The taste mirrors the nose, adding mandarin marmalade and plum jam. The finish is long-lasting, revealing a balanced and inviting aftertaste.

For the ice wine, completely frozen Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are harvested when temperatures drop to about –9 °C in early December. The frost separates water from sugar, acid, and aromatics, resulting in highly concentrated grapes. After careful sorting and gentle pressing, a two-month, temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks follows, after which the wine is stored for several months at approximately 0 °C. Light filtration and final bottle aging complete the production process.

In aroma and taste, the wine is powerful and complex, with intensely concentrated notes of cassis, blackcurrants, and ripe cherries, underpinned by elegant barrique aromas such as vanilla and roasted notes. On the palate, luscious sweetness combines with fresh, balancing acidity to create a harmonious whole that culminates in a long, structured finish. An extraordinary dessert wine that combines depth, elegance, and artisanal precision in every sip.
