The vineyards of San Marzano

The vineyards extend almost 100 meters above sea level, with high average temperatures and low rainfall. The clay soil, with an average depth of up to one meter, gives our grapes their unique quality and character.

Tasting notes

  • Color: Ruby red, enriched with violet reflections
  • Aroma: A generous bouquet reminiscent of ripe cherries and plums, accompanied by pleasant notes of cocoa and vanilla.
  • Taste: A wine with a velvety texture, rounded off by the warmth of the Primitivo; in the finish it presents notes of lingering sweetness.

The grapes for the San Marzano Sud Primitivo di Manduria are hand-harvested in the second week of September. Temperature-controlled maceration and alcoholic fermentation take place over approximately 10 days using selected yeasts to extract the best aromas.
