Giribaldi Barolo Cerviano Merli Riserva DOCG – A masterpiece from Novello. If you're looking for a wine that combines history, elegance, and depth, then the Giribaldi Barolo Cerviano Merli Riserva DOCG is perfect for you. This exceptional red wine comes from the Cerviano and Merli cru vineyards in the renowned village of Novello, in the heart of the Barolo region of Piedmont. The organically cultivated vineyards, situated at an altitude of 350–400 meters, benefit from optimal southern exposure and a marble-clay soil – the perfect foundation for a great Barolo.
In the glass, it displays a deep ruby red color that develops elegant brick-red reflections with age. The nose offers intense aromas of strawberries, ripe cherries, wild berries, and a hint of white pepper – typical of these Cru vineyards. On the palate, it is dry, warm, and full-bodied with velvety tannins, delicate vanilla notes, and subtle spice. A powerful yet elegant Barolo with great aging potential.
- Colour: Ruby red with brick-red reflections when ripe
- Bouquet: Red berries, strawberries, cherries, white pepper
- Taste: Dry, full-bodied, velvety with vanilla and spice notes
These Nebbiolo vines come from the vineyards in Novello, situated between 350 and 400 meters above sea level. The soil is marl and clay with good drainage and an excellent southern exposure. The two crus, Ravera and Cerviano Merli, produce an excellent Barolo with the typical characteristics of these sites.
Traditional winemaking takes place over 20 days at a controlled temperature of 30-35°C with several pump-overs throughout the day to optimize color extraction. After 4 months of aging in stainless steel tanks, the wine matures for 2 years in French oak barrels and is then stored in our underground cellar at a constant temperature of 16°C until bottled for sale.
