All the wines we offer come from our own vineyards. To maintain the highest quality, our vineyards on the slopes and steep inclines around Monzingen are cultivated in such a way that the grapes always reflect the optimum of the respective vineyard and vintage. The most important foundations for this are: yield-limiting pruning and optimal canopy management – ensuring the grapes receive adequate light and ventilation. Soil management is adapted to the specific site conditions, the harvest quantity is determined in a second step through thinning, and selective harvesting forms the culmination of our vineyard work.
Every year we participate in various wine awards and competitions.
Here are some successes of recent years:
- “Best of Riesling 2015” – 1x 91 points, 1x 94 points
- 2nd place in the 2014 Wine Awards (category: dry white and Pinot Gris)
- 1st place in the semi-dry/off-dry category – Vinum Riesling Challenge 2012
- State Honorary Award 2010, 2011, 2016
- Honorary awards 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018

Hotel with restaurant "Zur Stadtmühle"
The name "Stadtmühle" (City Mill) has its historical roots. In 1533, Monzingen was granted town privileges by Emperor Charles V. Besides the right to hold a market and administer high justice, milling was also permitted. The mill property was built by the town of Monzingen during this period. This marked the birth of the "Stadtmühle." From then on, the mill was leased by the town to a miller. In the 18th century, the town council decided to sell the mill to the then-tenant, Mr. Lauf. This laid the foundation for the Lauf family's milling dynasty in Monzingen.
After the winery closed in 1958, the Lauf family focused on viticulture, which was discontinued with the 1986 vintage. In 2016, the Schauß family purchased the property, which had been vacant for four years. Following extensive renovations, the villa-style residence now houses the Hotel-Restaurant Stadtmühle.
During the renovations, particular emphasis was placed on sustainability. Insulation was achieved using wood fiber insulation boards, all walls were plastered with clay, heating is provided by locally sourced wood chips, and air conditioning is achieved using groundwater. Freshly prepared meals are served in the restaurant. Seasonal, regional, and wine-centric cuisine is a must.
