About us

High-quality products at affordable prices – that is our promise to our customers.

The WINETORY concept offers agricultural producers and regional brick-and-mortar retailers an easy way to digitise their product range and offer it directly to new customer groups on the internet.

Discerning customers will find alcoholic beverages with a focus on wine and spirits, as well as non-perishable delicacies such as coffee, vinegars, oils and legumes. These can be easily selected and delivered to your home.

We ensure a comprehensive range and quick orientation in our online offering with a simple search function. We value good product descriptions and reviews. To this end, we involve producers and experts whenever possible so that they can communicate directly with end customers. The range is continuously being improved. We also offer a high degree of product comparability and guarantee high delivery reliability and quality.

The customer is our focus. In order to take into account constantly changing customer wishes and trends, we involve customers in the development of our range. To do this, we use the full range of internet technologies and social media. We bring the winemaker into every living room with our Live Tasting.

Fair E-Commerce Initiative

We are rethinking the trade in food and beverages in Europe. The old business models of agriculture and the beverage industry are partly outdated. They are likely to be challenged and replaced by large American and Chinese online retailers. Even today, large retailers already have considerable market power, for example over winegrowers who produce good products but have less and less contact with end customers. Regional retailers who offer good advice are increasingly struggling to survive. Unfortunately, entering the online retail market is often unattainable for them. Precarious employment exists throughout the supply chain. More and more subcontractors are being used by large retail groups, and some of the employees live and work in shameful conditions.

We are countering this development with our Fair E-Commerce initiative.

  • Fair production: Our platform enables producers to establish direct sales to customers, even without in-depth knowledge of e-commerce. We support producers in their customer relations. The elimination of wholesale trade levels opens up new creative freedom for producers.
  • Fair trade: Offline, retailers compete with chains and discounters. Online, large retail groups pose a major threat to qualified retailers. Due to limited knowledge and high barriers to entry in e-commerce, many locally or regionally oriented retailers are struggling to survive. To counteract the threat of job losses and product diversity in Europe, we offer a new direct sales channel.
  • Fair transport: Due to the market power of large online retailers, free shipping has become the norm for many customers. At one large American company, customers with a membership generally pay no shipping costs. We reject this business practice, as the cost savings are at the expense of weaker partners in the value chain. In particular, the payment of parcel delivery drivers in the last mile must be fair.
  • For this reason, we limit our cooperation with parcel service providers to a few providers who are still the most committed to this development.
  • Protecting the environment: We want to contribute to protecting the environment. For this reason, we do not offer any wines from overseas and promote environmentally friendly packaging. Shipping generates a lot of unnecessary CO2. In our view, the diversity of European wines is more than sufficient. We prefer parcel service providers who actively promote and use commercial electric mobility. In the area of packaging, we promote the use and sale of so-called wine bags or bag-in-box. Returnable bottles offer a closed cycle from the bottler to the customer and back in brick-and-mortar retail. This is different for single-use beverage bottles in online retail. Melting down broken glass from glass collections consumes a lot of fossil energy. In our view, wine bags are therefore more environmentally friendly from production to transport to recycling and are completely recyclable as a valuable material. Thanks to the vacuum in the wine bag, the wine retains the same taste from the first to the last sip.
